Umiam Water Sports Complex, situated on the Shillong-
Guwahati Road, is a part of the
Umiam Lake - 16 km from
Shillong.
Developed upon the reservoir of the Umiam Hydro Electric Project, this complex provides opportunities for water sports activities such as kayaking, water skiing and boating. Row-boats, paddle-boats, cruise-boats and water-scooters are among the equipments available.
The Orchid Lake Resort and Nehru Park are located within the complex. A floating restaurant with ferry services is an added attraction.
