Umhang Lake is located at Bataw village in
Jaintia Hills District. This is an artificial lake overlooking the yellow plains of Bangladesh.
It is adorned by lush green forests on either side. Legend has it that this lake was dug by the followers of Jaintia Chieftain U Sajar Nangli. Annual sacrifices are offered by the people of Bataw village on its banks.
