Siju Bird Sanctuary




Siju Bird Sanctuary lies across the Siju Cave on the other side of Simsang River in South Garo Hills District, Meghalaya.

It is the home for many rare and protected birds and other wildlife. The migratory Siberian duck visits here during winter months. After a steep climb of about 1 km, there is a stretch of rock formations at the entrance to this bird sanctuary.

The sanctuary is around 450 km from Shillong. Nearest town is Baghmara.
