Thadlaskein Lake is an artificial lake, located around 56 km from
Shillong and 8 km from
Jowai, off
National Highway 44.
Situated amidst meadows, oak and the Myntdu River, this lake is a good picnic spot. Legend says that this lake was dug by the followers of the Jaintia Chieftain U Sajar Nangli.
The best time to visit is September to May.
