Lachumiere is one of busiest areas in
Shillong. The place takes its name after a French settlement during the pre-Independence days.
Zonal Anthropological Museum and Meghalaya State Museum are located here. Shillong Municipal Board Reservoir is located at Upper Lachumiere.
