Umerkhed is a small town in
Yavatmal District of
Maharashtra. It covers an area of about 1238 sq km, with about 157 villages. The place is abundant in forests and has a low undulating terrain divided by a wide valley in the central region.
Umerkhed is well-known as a trade center. The
Painganga Wildlife Sanctuary and Sahstrakund Waterfalls are the major attractions of the place.
