Washim is the administrative headquarters of
Washim District, in
Maharashtra. It is situated 235 km to the south-west of
Nagpur.
Washim is noted for the Hemmad-style temples that dots its city-scape. Shreekshetra Pohradevi, Karanja Lad and Shree Balaji temple constitute interesting excursions.
Nearest airport is at Aurangabad.
Washim Railway Station is on the Akola-Hingoli line. By road, Washim is connected with Akola, Yavatmal and Nanded.
