Samadhi Mandir, the place where the mortal remnants of
Shirdi Sai Baba are placed in a tomb, is situated at
Shirdi, in
Maharashtra. The
samadhi is built in white marble with ornamental borders. There is a magnificent idol of Baba carved out in Italian marble.
Samadhi Mandir is a double storied building; the first floor has the pictures depicting the life of Baba. The temple has a conference hall which can accommodate about 600 devotees. There is a small museum on the side of the conference hall which showcases various belongings of Baba including his long robe, baton (Satka), clay pipes and leather slippers (Paduka). The Shirdi Sai Sansthan Trust preserves all the articles.
The temple is open from 5:00 to 22:00 hrs. All the formal worship including the sacred bath and Aarti’s are offered in the temple.
