Osmanabad is the administrative headquarters of
Osmanabad District, in
Maharashtra. It is situated 238 km south-east of
Aurangabad. The city was renamed as Dharashiv but it is still popularly known as Osmanabad.
Major point of tourist interest in the town is the 6th century Chambhar and Dharashiv caves. Excursions to Naldurg Fort, Paranda Fort,
Tuljapur and Saint Goroba village will be an interesting experience.
Nearest airports are at Aurangabad and Pune. Nearest major railhead is at Solapur.
National Highway 211 has its route through Osmanabad. By road, Osmanabad is linked with Solapur, Homnabad, Latur, Pune and Ahmednagar.
