Beed District




With an area of 10,692 sq km, Beed District has a population of over 2.1 million. Marathi, Hindi and Urdu are the languages spoken. The temperature varies from 20o C to 40o C. Jowar, bajra, cotton, sugarcane and groundnut are the main crops. The major folk-arts are Bahurupi, Vasudev and Gondhal. Naigaon Peacock sanctuary, Historic fort on plain at Dharur, Vaijnath (Jyotirling) at Parli and Yogeshwari Mandir at Ambajogai are the major tourist attractions.
