Mumbai Port (also known as Port of Mumbai) is a natural harbor located in a strategic location along the west coast of Maharastra. It plays an important role in developing the country's economy through trade and commerce. This multi-purpose port has 63 anchorages, berths and facilities for the safe storage and handling of cargo including chemicals and oil. It can handle ships of about 237.75 meter LOA and 1, 25, 000 tons displacements comfortably. The port has harbor tugs, dock tugs, dredgers, Hopper barges, and other basic infrastructures. It is well connected with all parts of India by road, rail, and air.
