Jalgaon




Jalgaon, a northern city of Maharashtra, lies on the Deccan Plateau, 425 km from Mumbai and 377 km from Pune. The city is bounded by the Satpura ranges in the north and Ajanta ranges to the south. It is located within a fertile, irrigated agricultural region, rich in volcanic soil well-suited for cotton cultivation. Jalgaon is an important center of cotton textiles, hydrogenation plants and vegetable oil mills, particularly of groundnut oil.

Some of the nearby attractions include Ajanta Caves 64 km south of Jalgaon and Yaval Wildlife Sanctuary 32 km to the north. Bhusawal, divisional headquarter of the Central Railways, is just 25 km from Jalgaon.

The nearest airport is at Aurangabad, 151 km away. Jalgaon City is a major railway junction on the Central Railways. It is well-connected by roads with the major destinations through NH 6.
