Situated at the end of a 500 m causeway jutting into the Arabian Sea, Haji Ali's Mosque is a majestic mosque easily accessible from Lula Rajpatrai Marg of
Mumbai. It is just opposite the renowned Mahalaxmi Temple.
Supported by marble pillars, this mosque is a splendid example of the Indo-Islamic architecture style. The shrine contains the tomb of a Muslim saint named Haji Ali who is believed to have been meditated here. The main entrance is built in the Muslim style and the structure resembles a minaret. Built in marble, Hajjis Ali's Mosque is adorned with mirrors of various colors. The tomb of Haji Ali is washed with rose water once in a year. Devotees believe that this water has medicinal properties. The devotees usually touch their heads and lips on the cloth which is thrown around the tomb. Accommodation facilities are available.
