Chaprala Wildlife Sanctuary is located at
Chandrapur District in
Maharashtra.
Spread over 134 sq km, the sanctuary is occupied by southern tropical dry deciduous forests. Mainly the home to Giant Indian squirrels, the sanctuary is also inhabited by endangered species such as tiger, leopard, jungle cat, sloth bear and wild dog. Reptiles include Indian python and common Indian Monitar. Besides, black buck, wild boar, spotted deer, sambar, barking deer, blue bull, common langur, jackal, mongoose, peacock, jungle fowl and flying squirrel are found.
The best time to visit is February to May.
