Raigad Fort is situated 30 km east of Mahad. It was
Shivaji's impregnable capital. It is the place where he was crowned and died. The fort features the Samadhi of Shivaji and the remains of his palace. Gangasagar Lake and the Jijamata Palace at Pachad are the other main attractions.
