Kolis is one of the primitive tribes of India. They are the native, traditional fishermen population of Mumbai. It is believed that Kolis, a ruling 'Kshtria' caste, was spread all over India.

Ramayana, belonged to this tribe. Koli tribe is known by different names in accordance with the languages of the regions.
