Kandahar is the headquarters a
taluk, situated 57 km south-west of
Nanded, in
Nanded District. It is 10 km south-east of
Lawha and 19 km south of
Sonkher. Kurala lies 15 km south of Kandahar.
Major attraction in Kandahar is the medieval Kandahar Fort, built by the Rashtrakuta King Krishna III of Malkhed. An old Idgah on a nearby hillock, belonging to the Nizamshahi period, is another spot worth paying a visit.
Aurangabad Airport and Nanded Railway Station serve Kandahar. Nearest major airport is at Hyderabad.
