Islampur

Islampur is the headquarters of a taluk, situated on National Highway 4, about 45 km north-west of Sangli, in Sangli District. It is an upcoming industrial area on the outskirts of Sangli. Islampur is 25 km south of Karad.

Koyna Lake, Aagashiva Hills and Chandoli Dam are places of tourist interest in the area. Sagareshwar Wildlife Sanctuary and Chandoli Wildlife Sanctuary (55 km) are two popular wildlife getaways within easy access from Islampur.

Pune Lohegaon Airport and Karad Railway Station serve Islampur.
