Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary lies at Tirora Range of Bhandara Forest Division in
Bhandara District of
Maharashtra.
The sanctuary comprises of hills and small lakes and the forest type is southern tropical dry deciduous forests. The sanctuary harbors tigers, panthers, leopards, bison, sloth bears, sambar deer, four-headed antelope, blue bull, chital, barking deer,
mouse deer, civet cats, jackals, jungle cats, spotted hyena, and hare. Birds include peafowl, the grey jungle fowl and the red spur fowl.
The best time to visit is April to May.
Nagpur is around 130 km west. The nearest airport is Sonegaon Airport. Gondiya Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead, about 45 km from the sanctuary.
