Vishalgad Fort is located at a distance of 60 km northwest of Panhala and 18 km south from Kolhapur -Ratnagiri Road. The fort, situated on a mountain, is separated by a deep narrow riven from the road terminus.
Now the fort is known as the place of Malik Raihan Dargah. There is a Sati Mandir in memory of Ambadevi (the queen of King Rajaram I), who burned as Sati after her husband's death. The fort has a Samadhi or tomb of great warrior Baji Prabhu Deshpande who fought until death with Siddi Masood, commander of Adilshaha. Also, Amriteshwar Temple, Takmak Tok, and ruins of some old buildings are found there.
