Chiplun is situated in
Ratnagiri District on the Mumbai-Goa Highway. It lies on the banks of Vashisthi River.
Basically an industrial town, Chiplun has several pharmaceutical and chemical industries. The town is famous for handicrafts, kokum sherbet, dry kokum, jackfruit chips and Alphonso mangoes. Parshuram Temple, Sawatsada Waterfall, Walavalkar Shivaji Museum and Guhagar Beach are nearby attractions.
Chiplun is 250 km south of Mumbai and is an important stop on the Konkan Railway.
