Rani Jijamata Udyan, popularly known as Rani Baug, is located at
Byculla in
Mumbai. Spread over an area of 48 acres and laid out in 1861, it houses Mumbai's Zoo.
At the entrance of the garden, earlier known as Victoria Gardens, is a charming clock tower bring back the memories of the style of architecture of Italian Renaissance. Victoria and Albert Museum (now the Bhau Dali Ladd Museum) is situated with in the garden. East of the museum is a giant statue of an elephant, brought from the Elephanta Caves.
The Garden is at a walkable distance from Byculla Railway Station and there are frequent buses from important points in the city to the Garden.
