Assaye is a village on River Juah, in the Jafrabad tahsil of
Jalna District in
Maharashtra. It was the scene of a famous Maratha battle. Arthur Wellesley was decisively defeated in the battle. The ruins of a Mahanubhav temple and some caves are nearby.
Assaye is well connected to nearby cities and towns by road. It is around 10 km east of Bhokardan and 60 km north-east of Aurangabad. Jalna Railway Station is about 60 km from Assaye.
