Navegaon National Park is located at Navegoan in
Gondiya District of
Maharashtra.
It spreads over 135 sq km of southern mixed dry deciduous forest. The beautiful Navegaon Lake in the midst of hill ranges has watchtowers beside it. This park encompasses a deer park, an aviary and three beautifully landscaped gardens.
Tigers, panthers, bison, sambar deer, nilgais, chital, wild boars, sloth bears, and wild dogs dominate the park. Jungle safari and boat riding on the lake are the other points of interest.
Visiting hours is from 04:00 to 19:00 hrs and the best time to visit is April to May.
The nearest airport is at Nagpur, 142 km away from the park, and Deulgaon Railway Station serves as the nearest railhead.
