Central Railways




Headquartered at Mumbai, the Central Railways serves Maharashtra, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh. About 1,177 suburban services are offered in Mumbai. It covers 3,766 kilometers of rail, connecting 473 stations. The Railways also focuses on the expansion of network, including capacity for rail freight.

Tourist information centers, computerized reservation facility, retiring rooms and waiting rooms are provided at the main stations. Places of great tourist interest served by the Central Railways include the hill resorts of Lonavla-Khandla, Matheran on Mumbai-Pune rail route, Gwalior, Agra and Mathura.

The main stations under the administration of Central Railways are Jalgaon Railway Station, Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) Railway Station, Kopargaon Railway Station and Kalyan Junction Railway Station.
