Shiva Purana, one among the eighteen
Puranas, was composed by sage
Veda Vyasa. It contains 24,000 verses and describes about the twenty-eight different forms of
Lord Shiva. This Purana contains instructions of Shiva on Dharma. Glory of Lord Nrismhadeva, Janardhana, the story of Ambarisha and the glories of Gayatri are well depicted in the Shiva Purana.
One can attain Shivasayujya, if this book is gifted to a brahmin with tiladhenu on the full-moon day in the month of Phalguna (March).
