Chintamani Ganesh Temple is an ancient shrine situated in
Ujjain,
Madhya Pradesh. It is a popular pilgrim center in the district. The presiding deity here is
Lord Ganesh flanked by Siddhi and Buddhi (goddesses who signify sanctity, fulfillment, prosperity and riches).
The idol of the temple is believed to be a
swayambhu one. The deity is traditionally known as ‘Chintaharan Ganesh’ meaning ‘the provider of freedom from worldly anxieties’.
This temple of considerable antiquity features some of the fine architectural specimens. The exquisitely carved pillars in the assembly hall dates back to the Parmar period.
Ujjain Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
