Bijamandal Mosque is a mosque in ruins in the
district of Vidisha. It was originally a temple dedicated to Charchika-devi, a form of goddess
Durga. During the reign of the Mughal emperor
Aurangzeb, this temple was demolished and a mosque was erected on its site using the material of the temple. The mosque was then known as Alamgiri Mosque.
This unusual ruined mosque with remains of votive pillars is situated in Udaypur, which is 90 km from Bhopal via Vidisha. Vidisha Railway Station is 53 km from Bhopal.
