Tawa River




Tawa River, the longest tributary of the Narmada River, originates from the Satpura Range, in Madhya Pradesh. This 172 km river flows through the districts of Betul and Chhindwara before merging with Narmada at the village of Bandra Bhan in Hoshangabad District.

A dam, Tawa Dam, has been constructed across the river in 1978. It is situated at the confluence of Tawa and Denwa rivers. Bori Wildlife Sanctuary was established along the Tawa.
