Taladhvaja Pillar is a single shaft pillar dating back to the Kushana Period. Situated at
Vidisha in
Madhya Pradesh, it is around 18 ft in height and has a capital of 3 ft and 4 inch. The shaft was once crowned by a square pinnacle formed in the shape of a fan-palm. The lowest part of the shaft is octagonal, the middle has 16 sides and the upper part is circular. Between the last two, there is a band of flowers. The capital consists of a bell shaped portion, above which is a massive abacus, the lower half octagonal and the upper half square. On this abacus there stood the fan-palm capital.
