Sheopur District




Sheopur is situated in the northern part of Madhya Pradesh. The population is .5 million. Wheat and mustard are grown here. The Chambal, Seep and Kuno are the rivers that flow through this region.

The main tourist attraction is the Kuno wildlife sanctuary. Some of the important locations are Bijaipur, Karahal and Baroda. The people specialize in the art of woodcarving. They make pipes, masks, toys, doors, stands, windows, wooden memorials, flower vases, bedposts and cradle posts. Doob Kund, Sangam of Rameshwar, Vijaypur Durg, and the Sheopur Fort are some of the other tourist destinations. Archeologically significant places are Dhruvkund and Shivnath of Utanwad, the Water Temple of Baroda, and the Temple of Devi Panwara.
