Ramnagar Fort

Ramnagar Fort, built in the late 17th century, is a ruined fort situated at Ramnagar in Mandla District of Madhya Pradesh. Ramnagar is about 15 km from Mandla.

Built by Gond Kings, the fort stands overlooking the Narmada River. The river surrounds it from three sides and a ditch on the fourth.

There is a legend, which says about a secret passage that once connected this fort with the Madan Mahal Fort at Jabalpur.

The fort also houses a ruined three-storeyed palace. It now stands with some of the towers and is slowly giving way to jungle.

Nearest airport is at Jabalpur. Mandla Fort Station, situated on the narrow gauge line, is 4 km from Mandla town.
