Racket-tailed Drongo is a large glossy black drongo with amazing elongated outer tail feathers with terminal rackets. It is locally called Bhimraj or Bhangraj.
Its iris is red, bill and feet are black. Its voice is glorious variety of lusty, resonant melodies of warbles, whistles and bell-like notes with typical drongo harsh churrs. The bird often mimics other birdcalls. It is usually found in pairs.
The bird is a rare resident and is found in hill forests of India, especially at Morni Hills in Haryana. Racket-tailed Drongo can be spotted in the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, Karnataka.
