Singaurgarh is a ruined fort situated on the
Satpura hill range, about 6 km from Singrampur in
Damoh District. The fort has got much historical importance, since this is an area where a civilization had flourished in older times. It is said that this strong and massive fort was built by King Vane Basore and the Gawe kings ruled over here for a long time. It was also the abode of Gaund king Dalpati Shah who lived here with his queen Durgawati during the 15th century. Nearby lies a lake full of lotus flowers. The fort and its surroundings are an ideal spot for picnicking.
