National Highway 79 links the holy city of
Ajmer in
Rajasthan with
Indore, the commercial capital of
Madhya Pradesh. The highway spans across the districts of
Bhilwara and
Chittorgarh in Rajasthan and
Neemuch,
Mandsaur,
Ratlam,
Dhar and
Indore in Madhya Pradesh and touches some prominent cities and towns on its way.
National Highway 79 starts at Ajmer and runs south through Nasirabad, Bhilwara and Chittorgarh, before entering Madhya Pradesh past Nimbahera. The highway is 220 km-long in Rajasthan.
In Madhya Pradesh, Neemuch is the first major settlement one comes across while traveling along National Highway 79. It then passes southwards through Mandsaur, Jaora, Ratlam and Badnawar to reach Dhar on
National Highway 59. The road connecting Dhar with Indore is common to both the national highways. National Highway 79 is 280 km-long in Madhya Pradesh.
