Nagpur District




Nagpur District is located in the north-eastern part of the state of Maharashtra. With an area of 10,000 sq km, it has a population of over 4 million. About 28 percent of Nagpur is covered by forest. Nagpur receives an annual rainfall of about 120 cm. Cotton, jowar, tur, soyabean, groundnut, udad, moong, orange, sugarcane, papaya, banana and spices are the major crops. Nagpur District has a dry tropical weather. Adasa, Khekranala, Dhapewada, Nagardhan, Bhadravati, Nawegaon Dam and Ramtek are the major tourist spots.
