Ananta Sesha is a thousand-headed serpent (naga) born from the mouth of
Balram right before he died. He is commonly referred to as Adisesha, Seshanaga (Sesha the serpent), Sesha (Endless Sesha) and Ananta (endless).
According to Hindu mythology, Vishnu, the protector of the world, lies on the couch of Sesha at his abode, Vaikuntha.
