Lakhmani Gram




Lakhmani Gram is a small village located on the banks of Sukar River in Jhabua District of Madhya Pradesh. It is about 8 km east of Alirajpur on Kukshi road.

The village is renowned for its Jain temple, which enshrines the milky-white marble and black marble (called sanmoosa) images. Traces of some Hindu temples, belonging to the 10th-11th century, were also found here.

A big fair held annually in the village is a major draw. During the fair, people from all over the district throng the sacred place, where the recovered images are placed.

The nearest airport and railway station are at Indore. By road, Lakhmani Gram is linked with Alirajpur, Bhabhara and Jobat.
