Bedaghat, also spelt as Bhedaghat, is a small village, located on the banks of
Narmada River, in
Jabalpur District of
Madhya Pradesh. It is about 24 km from
Jabalpur.
Situated overlooking the gorge, this drowsy little place is famous for marble rocks. The entire stretch of rocks resembles a bhed (sheep), hence the name Bedaghat. The village encompasses workshops of marble-carvers.
The crystal clear water of the Narmada River and the rocks that border the river are a fascinating sight. Places of tourist interest are Chaunsath Yogini Temple, Soapstone Artefacts and Dhuandhar Waterfall (1 km).
The best season to visit this place is between October and May. There are a number of hotels, which come in low budget, economy and deluxe range.
Jabalpur Airport is the nearest airport. Nearest railhead is the Jabalpur Railway Station. Frequent buses, tempos and taxis connect Bedaghat with Jabalpur.
