Majhgawan is a municipal town in Satna District, around 16 km north of Kothi. Satna, the administrative headquarters of the district, is 35 km away. Allahabad, the nearest major city, is 130 km from here.
Majhgawan is mostly laid out over small hills covered with dense forests and it comes under one of the reserve forest areas in Madhya Pradesh.
