The
Chhatris or cenotaphs, erected in memory of the Holkar rulers and their families are living examples of the impeccable Maratha architecture and sculpture. These were the temples where
Holkars used to attend Pujas. Situated on the banks of River Khan, these structures offer the most fascinating of sights when illuminated in the night. The largest and most impressive of the cenotaphs is that dedicated to Malhar Rao Holkar I. Another notable monument in the group is the one belonging to Rani Ahilyabai. Hundreds of tourists visit this place every year.
