Rewa District




Rewa District lies in the eastern part of Madhya Pradesh. It covers an area of 6,130 sq km with a population of about 2 million. Rewa is characterized by hills, ravines, plains, plateau, scarps, and waterfalls. The main rivers are the Ganges, Tons and Son. The areas included in Rewa district were held by the imperial Maurya dynasty which reigned in the 3rd century BC.

There are many 19th century palaces and temples. One of the major attractions is Chachai falls. Teonthar, Mauganj, Hanumana, Gurh and Sirmaur are other tourist locations.
