Bhanpura is 127 km from
Mandsaur, in the
Mandsaur District in
Madhya Pradesh. The place gets its name from King Bhaman who had reigned here. The museum is one of the landmarks of Bhanpura. It has a splendid collection of the popular arts of Mandsaur. The museum features art from the
Gupta era (4th and 5th centuries) to the time of the
Rajput clans of the Pratihars and Parmars (8th century). The well-sculpted portraits of Uma Maheshwar,
Kartikeya,
Vishnu, and
Nandi are another highlight.
