Bada Ganapati Temple




Bada Ganapati Temple, built in 1875, is located at the western end of M G Road in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. It has the largest Ganapati (Lord Ganesh) statue in the world, measuring 8 m from crown to foot.

The metallic frame of the image is made of gold, silver, copper, brass and iron. The statue also has an interesting configuration of ingredients such as bricks, lime stone, masala made of Gud, methi dana, soil collected from seven moksha puris, mud from stables of horse, elephant and cow, the powder of Pancha-ratna (five gemsstones) and the holy water from all major places of pilgrimage.

Indore Junction MG Railway Station, Indore Junction BG Railway Station and Sarwate Bus Station are the nearest access points.
