Amarwara, a taluk headquarters, is located towards the north-eastern part of Chhindwara District, about 40 km north-east of Chhindwara and about 90 km south of Narsinghpur, in Madhya Pradesh.

Chourai, Ramakona, Tamia and Parasia are interesting destinations.

Nearest airport is at Jabalpur. Narsinghpur Railway Station serves Amarwara.
