Vaikundam Estate is a 100-year-old rubber estate on the
Kerala-
Tamil Nadu border, at Vaikundam in
Kanyakumari. Bordered by the Kothai River and thick forest area, it is a 700 acres private plantation, with crops such as rubber, coconut, vanilla, ginger, clove, cashew and pepper. Permission is available to see the rubber tapping methods and to learn about centrifuging and vulcanization, at their Latex Processing Factory.
Boating facility is available at the Plantation Lake.
Thriparappu Waterfalls is the nearby major tourist spot.
The nearest railway station is at Nagercoil and the Trivandrum International Airport is the nearest airport. Regular Bus services are available form Kanyakumari and Nagercoil.
