Sri Narasimha Swami Temple is an ancient shrine located at
Muriamangalam near
Thiruvankulam, 10 km north of
Tripunithura in
Ernakulam District. It is among the few Narasimha temples in
Kerala, where the ritual of Aayirakudam Abhishek is performed.
The temple enshrines the beautiful idol (5 ft tall) of Chaturbaahu (four handed) Lord Vishnu, facing west. Large numbers of devotees come here to pray for the peace of mind, the care of chronic illness and the fulfillment of all their desires and ambitions.
Muzhukkappu, niramala, pizhinjupayasam, palpayasam and dhara are the main offerings. An annual festival, Kodikayatam, is held during April-May. This six day long festival ends with Arattu.
Tripunithura Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
