Trikkottur Perumalpuram Temple is situated near Payyoli Government High School at Perumalpuram in
Kozhikode District. The presiding deity is Lord
Shiva. The temple is managed by a temple committee. The temple dates back to the period of the Perumal Kings, who were
Shaivites. Akhalapuzha River flows near to this temple.
Evidences reveal that there were about 24 wells and four tanks around the present temple. This ancient temple was renovated during the 1950's. The temple has been reconstructed in Kerala style architecture with a Chuttambalam. The sub deities enshrined are Lord Ganesh, Lord Krishna, Lord Dakshinamurthy, and Lord Ayyappa. Daily pujas and offerings are held and an annual festival is also conducted.
The Trikkottur temple can be approached easily as it is situated beside the National Highway NH 17 running between Vadakara and Quilandy. Buses run daily from various towns and there is a bus stop in front of the Payyoli High School.
Payyoli Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
