State Bank of Travancore (SBT) was established in 1945 as the Travancore Bank Ltd and was sponsored by the erstwhile princely state of Travancore. Later under a special statute of the Indian Parliament (SBI subsidiary Banks Act 1959), the bank was made an associate of the
State Bank of India and a member of the State Bank Group, the largest banking group in India.
With its head office at Thiruvananthapuram, the bank has over 670 branches throughout 14 states in India and 555 branches in Kerala. A wide range of facilities and services such as internet and mobile banking, NRI services, international and trade finances, forex and remittance services are provided by the bank to its clients. Loans for promoting agriculture and small scale industries can also be availed from the bank.
