The British Library at
Thiruvananthapuram was established by the British Council of India in 1964. This branch has a 25,000 strong collection of information resources that includes books, multimedia, journals and other reference materials. It provides the latest information in academic, technological, scientific and management sectors, in Britain and elsewhere.
Online access is another advantage to the subscribers of this library. Special collections have been set up to offer additional information on specialized areas. The India Collection promotes mutual understanding between India and UK with books on different aspects of India by Indian and British authors. The IT section keeps students posted on the latest in Information Technology. The teens and children have their own section in Wonderland here. It provides specially selected books and multimedia resources in an artfully decorated room. Regular sessions on personality development, fun activities like story telling and painting are also conducted.
